The Codyfight team keeps expanding on activities for the community, and last Friday we launched our first event on our Discord Stage channel. Users now will have the opportunity to talk closely with the team and ask them directly through our AMA stage internal discussions.

The new initiative started with a casual chit-chat led by our art team formed by Jonas Balkevicius and Aivaras Skrodenis, along with a few unexpected guests, that served as the closing event of our art week on social media.

Our creative guys received interesting questions from the audience and had the opportunity to share their experiences with deadlines, perfectionism, challenges, and achievements in the team.

The discussion kicked off with our artists talking about their everyday routine in Codyfight and how they struggle with work pressure. Jonas, as the artist behind most of the visuals in Codyfight, describes himself as a perfectionist, however, he handles deadlines extremely well,

“I usually schedule my work around deadlines. I always want to be as sharp as possible but I also know when to stop. Just do your best work and make sure everything is well-tied together. Practice makes perfect and the best thing to face deadlines is to keep grinding and getting used to the hectic workflow. Now, I try to finish my work a couple of days before the deadline”.

Aivaras seemed to agree with his colleague and in this regard, he advised to not get stuck on a project,

“I have to get visuals done very quickly. Every day I do at least 3 or 4. I have learned to be fast and also not demand myself to make something perfect. It’s better to move on and not get extremely picky about your work, otherwise, you will never be able to get anything done”.

The artists also shared their experience getting used to working with Codyfighters, as well as with other visual affairs in the metaverse. Jonas joined the project in November of 2021 and ever since then he has revamped all the characters of the game, as well as its environments,

“I decided to start working on Codyfight because I was interested in the project and to be honest, I love creating robots. For me, it seemed very fascinating to be the main hand behind the art of the game from early on. I enjoy my work because it allows me to be very creative and explore unknown paths.”

In the case of Aivaras, the exploration of unknown territory applies as well. Before Codyfight, he worked as a graphic designer but did completely different tasks. His background is also very diverse as he studied cinematography and film production, therefore he had to learn and adapt his perspective to a new wave of work,

“You never stop learning and I love this aspect of my role in Codyfight. As a graphic designer, I have been developing new aspects of my skill set working for the marketing team and every day is a new challenge for me. I even learned to make animations!”.

Aivaras and Jonas also shared their approach to creative dissonance and relationship with the rest of the team. In this case, they do agree that the environment in the company is easygoing and allows them to grow and expand on new ideas. Jonas referred to this issue in the following terms,

“Our team is very open and allows us to develop our ideas and even challenge certain matters if we do not completely agree on them. We are not constrained and enjoy a lot of freedom. The office is always relaxed, everybody gets along and there is no such thing as strict guidelines to follow.”

Aivaras agrees with the creative freedom in the team and is happy to be able to work in a field that he deeply enjoys,

“Coming from a different background, I encountered my true passion later than other creators. However, I love the learning experience and always encounter support from the team and especially from the marketing department, where I always find a space to discuss new concepts”.

Jonas soon jumped after Aivaras to declare his passion for art and his wish to stay in the field for a long time,

“I come from a family of artists and for me, it was always my destiny. After 10 years of experience, I still consider it my passion and lucky to be able to work in something I enjoy”.

During the chat, we also received the visit of two unexpected guests, our CEO, Andrius Jaškauskas, and our marketing department lead, Linas Balsys. They connected to salute the audience and also to answer some questions regarding NFTs from one of our community members.

The chat ended on a high note and every party involved was satisfied and wished to be part of a new conversation in the near future. Our team members are always keen on answering the dilemmas of our audience and we will be organizing more events to connect us. In the meantime, feel free to ask any questions in our Discord, we will reach out and help with any issues. Always open to providing answers or having a nice chat!
